Monthly Report – January 2025
Opioid Settlement Funding: At the January monthly meeting a resolution was unanimously approved to authorize an agreement between the City of Troy and the Department of Mental Health to pass through the city’s opioid settlement portion received from OASAS. These funds are used for contracted services in the fight against opioid addiction.
Courthouse renovation: Two resolutions were approved to continue the renovation process at the historic County Courthouse. This year a public barrier to limit access to the Surrogate’s Court counter will be installed. These expenses are 100% reimbursable through the State of New York Unified Court System – Third Judicial District – Court Cleaning and Minor Repairs program.
Regional Workforce Development Board – Legislators also unanimously approved an agreement – funded through a federal grant – with The Arc of Rensselaer County for business workforce development services for individuals with disabilities, including individuals with developmental and/or intellectual disabilities, ages 18 and older. The goal for the Disability Resource Coordinator is to more effectively deliver services and help individuals navigate and improve employment outcomes.
