Rensselaer County
Rensselaer County will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at 5:30 p.m. in the Legislative Chambers of the Rensselaer County Legislature at the County Office Building, 1600 Seventh Avenue, Troy, New York for the purpose of hearing public comments on Rensselaer County’s current Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) project: 975ED924-19, Hudson River Foods Corporation, $543,505. The CDBG program is administered by the New York State Office of Community Renewal (OCR), and provides resources to eligible local governments for housing, economic development, public facilities, public infrastructure, and planning activities, with the principal purpose of benefitting low/moderate income persons. The hearing will provide further information about the progress of the ongoing CDBG project. Comments related to the effectiveness of administration of the CDBG project will also be received at this time. The hearing is being conducted pursuant to Section 570.486, Subpart 1 of the CFR and in compliance with the requirements of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, as amended.
The Legislative Chambers of the Rensselaer County Legislature is accessible to persons with disabilities. If special accommodations are needed for persons with disabilities, those with hearing impairments, or those in need of translation from English, those individuals should contact Linda von der Heide at (518) 270-2914 at least one week in advance of the hearing date to allow for necessary arrangements. Written comments may also be submitted to Linda von der Heide at Rensselaer County Economic Development and Planning, 1600 Seventh Avenue, Troy, NY 12180 until Friday, February 28, 2020.
Special sessions may also be convened at the request of the Chairperson.
The agenda for a regular session is available on the Thursday preceding the meeting. Members of the public have the opportunity to speak on issues contained in the agenda for one-half hour prior to the opening of the meeting.
We also have a Public Forum night; this is a great opportunity for the Public to make comments to the full Legislative Body. It is held on the Wednesday of the week preceding our regular monthly meeting in Chambers beginning at 6:00 p.m.
