Francis A. Piche
FAMILY HISTORY:
Francis A. Piche was born on May 12, 1927 in Troy, New York. He was the son of Louis and Beatrice (Owen) Piche, and the brother of the late Betty Reese, Louis, and John Piche.
EDUCATION:
Francis grew up in Troy, New York and received his education through the Troy Public School System.
HISTORY:
In 1944, Francis enlisted in the United States Navy in Albany, New York, where her served aboard the USS Oklahoma City during World War II and received the Victory Medal, American Theatre Medal, Asiatic Pacific Medal, 2 Stars, and the Occupation SubAuthBupers.
PERSONAL:
Francis married his wife, Audrey (Dunson) on December 15, 1946 in Troy, New York. Together they had six children Francis, Colleen, Laurie, Paul, Diane and David; twenty-four grandchildren; and sixteen great-grandchildren.
WORK EXPERIENCE:
After his Honorable Discharge from the Navy, Francis continued to support his family through his employment with Ford Motor Co. in Green Island, New York, where he worked as a floor inspector until his retirement in 1977.
COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES/ORGANIZATIONS:
In his spare time, Francis was a communicant of St. Joseph’s church in Green Island and was a member of the Legnard-Curtin Post, American Legion.
Sadly, on March 2, 2005, Francis passed away and was laid to rest at St. Jean’s Cemetery in Troy, New York.
Special sessions may also be convened at the request of the Chairperson.
The agenda for a regular session is available on the Thursday preceding the meeting. Members of the public have the opportunity to speak on issues contained in the agenda for one-half hour prior to the opening of the meeting.
We also have a Public Forum night; this is a great opportunity for the Public to make comments to the full Legislative Body. It is held on the Wednesday of the week preceding our regular monthly meeting in Chambers beginning at 6:00 p.m.
