Robert R. Gordon, Jr. Honor A Deceased Veteran

ROBERT GORDON, JR.
1948-2018

FAMILY HISTORY:
Robert Gordon, Jr. was born on November 8, 1948 in Troy, New York to the late Robert R. Gordon, Sr. and Joyce Roberts Gordon.  Robert was the brother of William Gordon, Roselyn Panza, Kathleen Snyder, Janice Gordon, Gary Gordon, Kevin Gordon, John Gordon and the late Bruce Gordon and Cecelia Weber.

EDUCATION:
Robert attended Troy High School, class of 1966 and Siena College, class of 1970.

HISTORY:
Robert enlisted in the United States Army on October 21, 1970, serving during the Vietnam War.  Robert became the proud recipient of the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Combat Infantry Badge and Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, 1 o/s Bar.  Robert was honorably discharged on April 18, 1972.  After his honorable discharge, Robert went on to serve with the National Guard, where he retired in 2008.

PERSONAL:
On August 25, 1973, Robert married his wife, Patricia Howard Gordon in Tory, New York.  Together they had one daughter, Heather Gordon.

WORK EXPERIENCE:
Robert was employed with the New York State Department of Civil Service as a classification and payroll specialist, retiring in 2003.

COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES/ORGANIZATIONS:
Robert was a 44 year member of the Troy Elks #141, serving as past Exalted Ruler, State Vice President and District Deputy.  He was also a member of the Veterans of Lansingburgh.

The agenda for a regular session is available on the Thursday preceding the meeting. Members of the public have the opportunity to speak on issues contained in the agenda for one-half hour prior to the opening of the meeting.

We also have a Public Forum night; this is a great opportunity for the Public to make comments to the full Legislative Body. It is held on the Wednesday of the week preceding our regular monthly meeting in Chambers beginning at 6:00 p.m.
