NOTICE OF A MEETING OF THE RENSSELAER COUNTY BOARD OF ELECTIONS

DATE AND TIME OF MEETING:  MARCH 4, 2025, AT 10:00 A.M.

PLACE OF MEETING:  OFFICES OF THE BOARD OF ELECTIONS, 1600 7TH AVE, TROY, NY.

THE PURPOSE OF THE MEETING IS TO DETERMINE:

THE REQUIRED REDISTRICTING OF ELECTION DISTRICTS IN THE TOWN OF BRUNSWICK, FOLLOWING THE 2024 CONGRESSIONAL REDISTRICTING WHICH RESULTED THE CREATION OF TWO CONGRESSIOINAL DISTRICTS IN THE TOWN OF BRUNSWICK, AND SPECIFICALLY THE CREATION OF ELECTION DISTRICTS 11, 12, 13, 14, 15 & 16.

FOLLOWING THE 2024 GENERAL ELECTION, THE BOARD OF ELECTIONS IS REQUIRED TO REDISTRICT AND RESTORE THE NUMBER OF ELECTION DISTRICTS IN THE TOWN OF BRUNSWICK TO THE PREVIOUS TEN ELECTION DISTRICTS.

THE REQUIRED REDISTRICTING WILL NOT CHANGE A VOTER’S CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT.

THE BOARD OF ELECTIONS WILL PROVIDE NOTICE TO VOTERS OF ANY CHANGE IN ELECTION DISTRICT/CHANGE OF POLLING LOCATION PRIOR TO THE JUNE 2025 PRIMARY ELECTION.

The proposed redistricting is as follows:

Special sessions may also be convened at the request of the Chairperson.

The agenda for a regular session is available on the Thursday preceding the meeting. Members of the public have the opportunity to speak on issues contained in the agenda for one-half hour prior to the opening of the meeting.

We also have a Public Forum night; this is a great opportunity for the Public to make comments to the full Legislative Body. It is held on the Wednesday of the week preceding our regular monthly meeting in Chambers beginning at 6:00 p.m.
