Frank L. Ciccarelli
FAMILY HISTORY:
Frank L. Ciccarelli was born on August 2, 1918 in Troy, New York. He was the son of Michael and Angeline (Pitaniello) Ciccarelli, and the brother of Carmen, Alphonso, and Vito Ciccarelli.
EDUCATION:
Frank grew up in Troy, New York and received his education through the St. Mary’s Elementary school and left Troy High in hos Junior year to help support the family.
HISTORY:
Frank graduated Officer’s Candidate School, Class 84 and attained the rank of Captain in the 86th Mountain Infantry of the 10th Mountain Division from 1942 to 1945. He fought in the Apennine Valley and Po Valley while serving in Italy. For his honorable service, he received the Bronze Star Medal, American Campaign Medal, European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, and the World War II Victory Medal.
PERSONAL:
Frank married his wife, Rose Elizabeth (Bizzarro) on October 19, 1941 in Troy, New York at the St. Anthony’s Church. Together they had two children: Michael, and Carmen; four grandchildren: Frank, Joanna, Michael, and Jennifer.
WORK EXPERIENCE:
Frank was employed by American Locomotive Co. in Schenectady in the early 50’s, and later employed by GE in Waterford, where he was a chief shop steward for 16 years, retiring in 1983.
COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES/ORGANIZATIONS:
Frank was a member and president in 1951 of the Italian Community Center in Troy and member of the Ciccarelli-Rae-Agars and Bevivino Veterans Post in Troy, and communicant of St. William’s Church in Troy. He was also a leader of Union 339, IUE.
Sadly, on January 25, 1990, Frank Passed Away.
Special sessions may also be convened at the request of the Chairperson.
The agenda for a regular session is available on the Thursday preceding the meeting. Members of the public have the opportunity to speak on issues contained in the agenda for one-half hour prior to the opening of the meeting.
We also have a Public Forum night; this is a great opportunity for the Public to make comments to the full Legislative Body. It is held on the Wednesday of the week preceding our regular monthly meeting in Chambers beginning at 6:00 p.m.
