Warren J. Winne, Sr.

FAMILY HISTORY:
Warren J. Winne, Sr. was born on February 17,1931 at the Brady Memorial Hospital in Albany, New York. He was the son of the late Lyman and Gladys (Sanford) Winne, and the brother of Franklin, Eugene, Eileen, and Dorothy.

Warren grew up in Delmar, New York where he attended the Bethlehem Central School District then later moving to East Greenbush, New York where he continued his education in the East Greenbush School District, leaving school to serve his country at the age of 17.

HISTORY:
In 1948, Warren enlisted in the United States Army and proudly served his country from May 3, 1948 until March 19, 1952 as a Corporal.

PERSONAL:
Warren married his wife, Mary A. (Rossello) Winne on September 21, 1952 in Rensselaer, New York at St. John’s Church. Together they had four children: Carol, Sandra, Colleen, and Warren Jr: Grandchildren: Ashley, CJ, and Kristen as well as many great grandchildren.

WORK EXPERIENCE:
After his Honorable Discharge from the Army, Warren was employed by Johns Manville Company as a pipe insulator and construction worker from 1952 until 1970.

COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES/ORGANIZATIONS:
In his spare time, Warren enjoyed hunting, fishing, member of the Asbestos Union No. 40, volunteer Fireman with Clinton Heights Fire Department, member of Melvin Roads American Legion Post 1231, (where in 1962 he received a membership award for 10 years of service), volunteer for the East Greenbush Girls Softball organization as an Umpire and helped with field maintenance.  Where later the East Greenbush Girls Softball field was named and dedicated in his honor.

Sadly, on May 17, 1970, Warren passed away and was laid to rest at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Rensselaer, New York.

The agenda for a regular session is available on the Thursday preceding the meeting. Members of the public have the opportunity to speak on issues contained in the agenda for one-half hour prior to the opening of the meeting.

We also have a Public Forum night; this is a great opportunity for the Public to make comments to the full Legislative Body. It is held on the Wednesday of the week preceding our regular monthly meeting in Chambers beginning at 6:00 p.m.
