District Four – Towns of Sand Lake, Schodack, and Nassau

Tom was elected to the County Legislature in 2021.

Tom and his father purchased the Burden Lake Country Club and has owned and operated the Burden Lake Country Club for nearly 40 years.

Tom will bring his valuable business experience to the Rensselaer County Legislature and as a creator of jobs, Tom knows what it takes for businesses in our County to grow.

After graduating from the Culinary Institute of America in 1985, Tom joined his father Ron at the Burden Lake Country Club. Starting modestly, with a 9-hole course that needed improvement, they turned BLCC into an 18 hole championship course with a restaurant and a clubhouse. Tom has helped many organizations raise money and thousands of area residents got their start working at BLCC or participating in their junior golf program. Tom has generously donated the use of the course to the Averill Park High School Golf team.

Tom lives in Nassau with girlfriend Carolyn and his daughter Maggie.

He serves on the Legislature’s Environment, Aging and Planning & Tourism Committees.
