District One – City of Troy

Laurie was appointed to the County Legislature in March 2024 to fill a vacancy.

Laurie has been a resident of Troy for over 45 years, initially living in Lansingburgh and eventually the Stow Hill neighborhood with her family.  Her family business, Kennedy’s Tavern has been an integral part of the Troy community for over 40 years.

Laurie and her husband Joe have 2 sons: Joseph and Michael.

Laurie and Kennedy’s Tavern have supported many organizations by volunteering and event sponsorship, these organizations include: Spring Youth Baseball, Joseph’s House, St. Joseph’s Food Pantry, Veterans of Lansingburgh, Veterans Housing Facility in Troy, the CRAB Club, Troy CYO, Troy Boys and Girls Club, Hope 7, Adopt a Senior for the Holidays – Rensselaer County Senior Center, Unity House, Sidewalk Warriors, Mount Ida Food Pantry and the Tunnels to Towers Foundation.

Laurie will continue to advocate and fight for all Troy residents including seniors, veterans, first responders and youth by acting as a vocal representative at the city and county level.
