SUMMARY:November 2024 Honor A Deceased Veteran - Kenneth M. Wilson
DESCRIPTION:November 2024\nKenneth M. Wilson\n1921-1995 \nFAMILY HISTORY:\nKenneth M. Wilson was born on October 8\, 1921 in Dobbs Ferry\, New York. He was the son of the late Harold and Frances (Eschbach)Wilson\, and the brother of Miriam\, Dorothy\, Gertrude\, Harriet\, Harold\, and Peggy. \nKenneth grew up in Hudson\, New York and later moved to the city of Rensselaer and attended the Van Rensselaer High School from 1938 to 1941.  Kenneth then settled down in East Greenbush\, New York. \nHISTORY:\nIn 1942\, Kenneth enlisted in the United States Army and proudly served his country for three years achieving the rank of Corporal as a Heavy Machine Gunner\, during which time he was stationed in Naples-Foggia\, Rome-Arno\, Southern France.  Kenneth throughout his time of service had earned the European-African-Middle Eastern Service Medal\, Good Conduct Medal\, Purple Heart with Oak Leaf Cluster. \nPERSONAL:\nKenneth married his wife\, Mary (Cornell) on October 8\, 1949 in Rensselaer\, New York. Together they had three children: Karen\, Keith\, Diane; four grandchildren: Gregory\, Laura\, Zachary\, Alexandra. \nWORK EXPERIENCE:\nAfter his Honorable Discharge from the Army\, Kenneth was employed by the United States Postal Service. \nCOMMUNITY ACTIVITIES/ORGANIZATIONS:\nIn his spare time\, Kenneth enjoyed camping\, gardening and reading.  Kenneth also took time to coach baseball and softball for East Greenbush Little League\, East Greenbush Girls Softball League\, and East Greenbush Babe Ruth. \nSadly\, on November 30\, 1995\, Kenneth passed away and was laid to rest at New Rural Cemetery in East Greenbush\, New York.

DESCRIPTION:Section 2.12 of the County Charter- Committee on Open Government. The Legislature shall establish a Committee on Open Government\, with the committee responsible for periodic review of public access to legislative operations\, maintenance of public records of the Rensselaer County Legislature\, public outreach efforts of the County Legislature and upgrades in technology and communications equipment that are beneficial to the people of Rensselaer County. The committee shall include three members appointed by the Chairman of the Legislature and two members appointed by the Minority Leader.
