DESCRIPTION:CLINTON JOHN WINNIE\n1929-1997 \nFAMILY HISTORY:\nClinton John Winnie was born on July 3\, 1929 in Albany\, New York to Clinton E. Winnie and Catherine M. Winnie (McCarthy).  Clinton was the brother of Catherine First\, William Winnie\, and the late Shirley and Mary Lou Winnie. \nEDUCATION:\nClinton attended Albany High School. \nHISTORY:\nPFC Winnie enlisted in the United States Army on February 9\, 1951 in Albany\, New York.  He served during the Korean War with Company B\, 43rd Engineer Construction Battalion.  PFC Winnie was the proud recipient of the Korean Service Medal W/2 Bronze Stars\, United Nations Service Medal\, and Merit Unit Commendation.  PFC Winnie was honorably discharged on January 24\, 1953. \nPERSONAL:\nClinton married his first wife\, Regina Fairfield on February 4\, 1951.  Together they had one son; Michael Winnie.  On September 17\, 1955\, Clinton married the late Anne I. Bond.  Together they had three sons; Steven\, and the late Ronald and Richard Winnie; grandfather of; Walter\, Michelle\, Stephanie\, Shelly\, Shannon\, Steven\, Shawn\, Shane\, Sawyer\, and the late Tonya. \nWORK EXPERIENCE:\nClinton was a truck driver for Hudson Valley Paper Co. for nine years\, and later began working as an exterminator for Linindoll’s Pest Control\, where after 17 years\, he retired in 1994. \nCOMMUNITY ACTIVITIES/ORGANIZATIONS:\nClinton was a member of the American Legion\, Melvin Roads Post #1231\, as well as a member of the AARP. Clinton enjoyed listening to country music and was an avid New York Mets Baseball fan. \n  \n  \n
