Legislators Reid & Shannon Give Support to Schodack Seniors

Rensselaer County Legislators Alex Shannon and Martin Reid provided funding in support of programs and activities offered for seniors at the Edward C. Swartz Southern Tier Senior Center.

Shannon and Reid provided $1,000 in legislative funding for special services and programs provided at the senior center, which serves seniors from Schodack, Nassau and Sand Lake. The special services and programs include exercise instruction, musical entertainment and various educational programs.

The senior center also provides meals and a place for senior and community meetings. The Meals on Wheels program is also run from the senior center, which is located near the intersection of State Routes 9 & 20 and Route 150.

“The Schodack Senior Center is a great part of our community and a big part of the lives of many seniors in this area. These special programs and services help make the senior center a place that many seniors look forward to visiting,” said Shannon.

“We are very happy to be able to support the special services and programs provided at the Schodack Senior Center and look forward to supporting our seniors for years to come,” added Reid.
