As a Rensselaer County legislator, representing the City of Troy (District One), I would first like to thank all those voters who have made this possible. The citizens of Troy and Rensselaer County deserve a legislator who will serve the needs of our community and not themselves, and that is exactly what I intend to do. I am a lifelong resident of Troy, a graduate of St. Augustine’s School and Catholic Central High School, Class of 1969. I have been married to Martha (Grady) for 39 years, and we have three children and six grandchildren. I retired from the Troy Fire Department after 28 years of dedicated service and am a current member of the Troy Retired Firefighters Association. I am the President of the Troy Flag Day Parade, having served as a member of the Flag Day Parade Committee for 30 years. I am an instructor of a Home Safety Course and am a frequent speaker on fire prevention at local businesses, schools, senior centers, and other organizations. My current committee memberships include the Judiciary and Public Safety Committee which encompasses the Bureau of Emergency Services, Fire Advisory Board, the County Jail, Sheriff, Probation, District Attorney, Public Defender, County Attorney, and the STOP DWI Program. I also represent District One as a member of the Environmental Committee which oversees Solid Waste, Dyken Pond, Environmental Management Council, Watershed Protection, Fish and Wildlife and Forestry. I was recently appointed to the Soil and Water Conservation Board. I am eager to share my experience and expertise with my fellow legislators and to represent the residents of the City of Troy and Rensselaer County. Please feel free to contact me with your questions and comments. |
